So, I'm here in my multiple capacities at the Hospitality Center, where so many good things happen here. It's more than just what it looks like on the surface.
1) They serve a hot breakfast in the morning, and dinner for a midday meal on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Anyone is welcome, it is a judgment-free zone for homeless, at risk of being homeless, mental health issues, needing a social outlet, and just because you want something different to do.
2) On Thursdays, they host a clothing ministry for those in dire need, and always are in need of so many supplies from clothing (all sizes from baby to big & tall), especially undergarments, personal care items, and anything you can think of.
3) AA meetings and other support groups are available on Tuesdays.
4) Laundry services, bus passes, and other helpful services are available.
5) On occasional Mondays, free haircuts are provided.
Because so much is offered, it is a huge task for one place to offer so much, and there are even MORE that's here, and also realize that the services still could be expanded to serve even a greater population, or expand the days of operation.
If anyone can help out with donations of any sort, it is greatly appreciated, even if it's just clothing you're getting rid of... If you know of any other sources that could be tapped into, that connection would be helpful.
