Hard Bonus: Incorporate a phrase or quote by Barack Obama

Easy Bonus:
Mention something that you dislike running out of

Stink Wheels

Maybe it’s a good thing I did not eat any beans recently, because if I did, I’m not sure if I’d be Safe For Work (SFW). But being that I work in a nursing home, Stuff Happens on a regular basis, and it’s not always the residents. I’m glad I have a working toilet to use, except for the times that I had to use the ones in the Atrium. I don’t like running out of toilet paper and coffee filters. But when you have to make a run for it, just remember, “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” Barack Obama

Just remember, change is the only constant – make friends with it. I leave you with Changes by David Bowie.

Blogophilia 43.16: Childhood Memories

Marvin Martian says “Greetings, Dear Earthlings and Fellow Blogophilians!! Welcome to Week 43 of Year 16 in Blogophilia! Happy Easter to all who celebrate!!!”

Blogophilia on Facebook HERE & blog topic parameters & how it works on WordPress HERE

Hard Bonus: Incorporate a song you heard on the radio growing up

Easy Bonus:
Include any type of egg (Easter egg, fried egg, scrambled, deviled, duck egg… etc)

My Childhood Memories are weird. We didn’t do Easter in Japan, so my 1st one was when I was 9. I didn’t know hard-boiled eggs were in potato salad, and duck eggs are a lot like chicken eggs, just bigger. Fresh is best. I think some of the songs I’ve heard growing up after coming here to Wisconsin (we rarely drove in Japan, and the radio was mostly in the car when we got to the States) – aside from the Star Wars soundtrack, were Don’t Bring Me Down (ELO), It’s Still Rock n Roll To Me (Billy Joel), but then when my mother got with my 1st stepfather, it was mostly listening to tape cassettes that they liked, and there was Statler Brothers, other country type mixes, and not really my thing… My sister had friends who introduced her to the radio, and while she liked the pop-rock, I liked the alternative. My graduating year, it was Boom Boom (Paul Lekakis) – who is actually a model & actor. But I also liked the hard rock like Blondie & Lita Ford.

Hard Bonus: Incorporate a lyric or quote by Gloria Estefan

Easy Bonus:
Include the phrase “swinging on a star”

Desert Reflections

Nights In Sedona might get pretty cold. Desert dry rising in red rock reaching for the golden sun… It might be beautiful at sunrise & sunset. So, to stay warm, you may as well keep warm by making sure you stay warm by dancing all night. As Gloria Estefan says, Rhythm Is Gonna Get You –

No way
You can fight it every day
But no matter what you say
You know it
The rhythm is gonna get you

Star swinging on a clowd

So, go ahead… take your trip, so you can go Swinging on a Star & enjoy!

Blogophilia 41.16: Concrete

Hard Bonus: Mention a famous city building

Easy Bonus:
Include a construction vehicle

Skyrise Parking

Asphalt stinks… I don’t know why people think it’s smart to blacktop the roads. I’m also thinking that we should use Green Concrete: This type of concrete uses waste materials and requires less energy for production, making it more durable and requiring less maintenance, increasing longevity. Saves money, energy & lasts longer all good, right?

I wonder if Casa MilĂ  in Barcelona gets fixed with green concrete? What do I know? I just know I’d like to see less articulated haulers & more tractors around – it seems like there’s so much construction going on… with the current economy, we can use more farmland or at least plant more trees that can grow fruit.
