The flying high pink ladies

I miss the days of being able to travel. Midwest Express was my favorite airline, where the lunches were pretty good for an airline, and their chocolate chip cookies were better than baseball cards. It makes me wonder, Where Have They All Gone? Like, everything! Life has a way of happening, good or bad…

I am here, I am here
I’ve already seen the bottom, so there’s nothing to fear
I know that I’ll be ready when the devil is near
I am here, I am here
All of this is wrong, but I’m still right here
I don’t have the answers, but the question is clear

I Am Here” – P!nk – Beautiful Trauma album

Often, I seriously question why I keep trying, yet as long as I’m an advocate with chutzpah, quitting or giving up isn’t an option, so it’s all about switching gears & hoping for the best, even though that’s unlikely, also. I need a younger version of me (except more successful) when I get too old to get it done myself.

G’day to be a lamb

I’m going to ramble about what Spring Fling is supposed to mean… Some groups have a gala, with brightness, food, etc… but can we actually fling spring like a pitcher flinging a baseball? And with winter lasting so long, is spring the last ditch thing that happens right before summer? Or, can we have a wild affair with the season, no matter how short or long? I don’t know! I feel like it’s comparing apples & oranges, though maybe Carol can come over with her pet lamb to graze in the yard, Timmy can bring his adventure characters & Jessica can bring fruit snacks? Maybe… anyway, “Always watch where you are going. Otherwise, you may step on a piece of the forest that was left out by mistake.” Pooh

Hard Bonus: Mention an Irish saying in your blog

Easy Bonus:
Include 3 different shades of green

Gator-boat fishing for clownfish

I used to have a brown leather satchel to carry my Lucky Charms in. These items weren’t necessarily anything special, sometimes it was just a cool rock I found at a special time or event in my life, but I also had a guitar pick from a band I went to see, too. Just things to remind me of the good times in life, but someone had gotten rid of it then blamed me for losing it. It wasn’t so much that the thing was gone, it was the attitude of the person, so, I don’t have anything to do with them.

Life gets crazy… sometimes it would be nice if I could go to Emerald City, go dance around the Land of Oz & get fixed up… Or maybe go around with my hunter/forest green garb, in honor of the Packers? But I’d like to find some Castleton or cadmium fabric, to see if I can make myself a blouse or scrub top, possibly a light jacket…

And here is your Irish Blessing:

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand

As a naturalist, I’d like to mention that I’d have the Great Mother hold everyone in the palm of her hand, but go with what you believe, and yes, until we meet again…

Enlightenment

To Live Long and Prosper, you need to pursue your creative outlets. That hobby of yours, talent, extra curricular activity… Go write that story, paint the picture, jot down that music in your head, whatever it is… “We’re gonna jazz it tonight!” (West Side Story – Tonight – quintet) and keep jazzing it up every night (and every day, too). It’s part of who you are, no one else has your words, eyes, ears, etc.

Being part of the creative arts may make us a bit eccentric, yet we are who keeps the culture going… Do not lose it. Share it with the world, at least yours. So, here is mine:

  • What: UW-Parkside Wind Ensemble & Community Band Concert
  • Where: UW-Parkside Rita Tallent Hall Theater
  • When: Thursday, March 9th @ 7pm (my son is 23 the same day)
  • How (in person): buy the tickets to see in person here or
  • How (remotely): subscribe to the YouTube live over here
  • Why: Something to do, somewhere to go, people to see

Just remember, the song is over when it’s over, not any sooner… Don’t let the wrong song be your Song Under the Credits (Veggie Tales) Be a shining star with your talents, and bring enlightenment to the rest of the world – whether people want to read, see, & hear your stuff, the planet is ready.
